Our neurologists are all board certified or board eligible. This means they have completed a neurological residency after graduating medical school. They also have passed a series of tests for board certification. If they are board eligible it means they have met the requirements to be eligible to take the tests for certification; this testing process can take two to three years after completion of their residency program.
Our staff includes a certified EEG technologist and EEG lab. Our staff performs diagnostic testing that includes EEG, sensory evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities and electromyography. Many patients are referred to us for consultation by their primary care physician. Neurology also provides services to patients after hours through our on call service, twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year.
Psychiatry and neurology are intertwined; some of both specialties' residency training are similar. Both specialties are certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
